New to yoga
This ancient Indian practice has now become mainstream in the West. Some of the many proven benefits of yoga include: improvement in posture and breathing, increased tone, strength and flexibility, a greater ability to cope with stress and a feeling of calm.
One way of starting to practice yoga is to attend a beginners course – we’ve been running sold out yoga beginners courses every 6 weeks since we opened in Tufnell Park in 2014 and now run these in both Tufnell Park and Islington, mostly on Thursdays from 8-9:15pm.
Beginners courses will give you an introduction to fundamental yoga poses (asanas), concentrating on healthy alignment and establishing a deeper awareness of your breathing. Instruction in meditation and relaxation techniques will also be given. This course creates a strong and safe foundation from which you can then investigate different yoga styles at Down to Earth.
