Pilates focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle-strength, flexibility and posture. It was created by German-born Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s and incorporates elements of yoga, martial arts and Western forms of exercise.
We offer mat classes taught by experienced teachers for all levels; from beginners’ courses to advanced classes as well as private 1-2-1 sessions at the studio.
Open – This class is suitable for beginners and those with a more developed practiced. The class works on strengthening muscles, improving posture, developing skill and increasing the understanding of pilates principles.
Level 1-2 – This class is suitable for those with some knowledge of pilates or those with reasonable core strength. The class will develop flexibility whilst increasing core strength to bring balance to the body.
Level 2-3 – This class is for those looking for a more challenging class that focuses on strengthening the core at a more advanced level.
